Social Login Policy

This Social Login Privacy Policy explains how the Google Sign-In feature offered by Safetywear.ca accesses, uses, stores, shares and deletes Google user data. Safetywear.ca is operated by Checkpoint1 Apparel Corp. This policy supplements our general Privacy Policy.

Purpose of Safetywear.ca

Safetywear.ca is a Canadian online store offering safety workwear, high-visibility apparel, personal protective equipment (PPE), fall-protection equipment, workplace safety products, tools and related equipment.

We offer Google Sign-In to make it easier for customers to create an account, sign in securely, manage account information, review orders and use other account-related features on Safetywear.ca.

Google Sign-In is optional. Customers may use other account creation or sign-in methods available on our website.

Google User Data We Access

When you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive the following information from Google, depending on your Google account settings and the permissions displayed on the Google authorization screen:

• Your name;
• Your email address;
• Your unique Google account identifier; and
• Your Google profile picture, if one is available.

Safetywear.ca does not receive or store your Google password. We do not use Google Sign-In to access your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, payment information or other Google Workspace content.

How We Use Google User Data

We use information received through Google Sign-In only to:

• Verify your identity and authenticate your sign-in;
• Create a new Safetywear.ca customer account;
• Connect Google Sign-In to an existing Safetywear.ca account;
• Display basic account information, such as your name or profile picture;
• Provide account, order-history and customer-service features;
• Maintain the security of our website and prevent fraud or unauthorized access; and
• Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

If you place an order, your name and email address may also be used to process the transaction, provide order updates and offer customer support.

Using Google Sign-In does not automatically subscribe you to promotional emails. We will only send marketing communications when we have an appropriate legal basis or you have provided consent. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time.

How We Do Not Use Google User Data

Safetywear.ca does not:

• Sell Google user data;
• Rent Google user data to third parties;
• Use Google user data for targeted advertising;
• Share Google user data with data brokers;
• Use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models; or
• Access Google services or information beyond the permissions shown during sign-in.

Sharing of Google User Data

We may share limited account information with service providers that help us operate Safetywear.ca, including our ecommerce platform, hosting providers, authentication providers, security providers and customer-service systems.

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to us and are expected to protect the information appropriately.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or lawful government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect Safetywear.ca, our customers or others from fraud, security threats or unlawful activity.

Storage and Security

Google user data associated with your Safetywear.ca account may be stored within our ecommerce platform and systems used to operate the website. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure.

These safeguards include encrypted HTTPS connections, access restrictions, account authentication and security monitoring. However, no online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain Google Sign-In account information while your Safetywear.ca account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide account services, maintain security, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.

Order, invoice, payment and other business records may be retained for up to seven years, or longer when required by applicable law. When personal information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

Removing Google Account Access

You can remove Safetywear.ca's access to your Google account through the permissions or third-party connections section of your Google Account.

Removing Google access prevents future Google Sign-In authentication but does not automatically delete your Safetywear.ca account, completed-order records or information we must retain for legal or security purposes.

Deleting Your Safetywear.ca Account

You may request deletion of your Safetywear.ca account and associated personal information by following the instructions on our account deletion page or by emailing privacy@safetywear.ca.

Please include the email address connected to your Safetywear.ca account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. Certain transaction, tax, fraud-prevention or legal records may be retained where required or permitted by law.

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and ask questions about how your information is handled.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Social Login Privacy Policy when our practices, services or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
