How to Find the Right Size

Measure over the clothing you expect to wear underneath the parka. For working garments, measure generously to allow sufficient freedom of movement.

  • A. Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, underneath the arms and across the shoulder blades. If your stomach is larger than your chest, use the larger measurement.
  • B. Waist: Measure around your waist at the level where you normally wear your pants.
  • C. Hip: Stand with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
  • D. Arm: Bend your arm and place your hand on your hip. Measure from the centre back of your neck, across the shoulder and down the arm to the wrist.
  • Between Sizes: If your measurements fall between two sizes or you plan to wear bulky layers underneath, select the larger size.
  • Fit Check: Confirm that the parka permits comfortable reaching, bending and working without pulling tightly across the shoulders, chest or arms.

Protective Garment Use

  • Perform a workplace hazard assessment to confirm that the garment’s arc rating and certifications are appropriate for the intended application.
  • Wear the parka completely fastened and use it as part of a properly selected flame-resistant clothing system.
  • Inspect the shell, lining, reflective tape, seams, zipper and cuffs before every use.
  • Remove the parka from service if it becomes torn, contaminated or damaged in a way that could reduce its protective performance.
  • Do not alter the garment or attach non-FR components that could compromise its protection.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s care label and workplace procedures for laundering, inspection and replacement.

The Best Hi-viz FR Winter Clothing

Posted by LCB on 5th Jan 2017

Well designed with lots of pockets; even an inside pocket that has room for letter size paper. Warm and comfortable at -30C. Zipper works well with enough room at the collar to zip to the top.
